Geoff "Do the Dew" Keighley is up to shenanigans once again, this time tweeting an image of Jaokim Mogren, CEO of the company behind The Phantom Pain, covered in bandages. As you may recall, The Phantom Pain was a thinly veiled teaser for what's likely Metal Gear Solid V, but you'll also recall Kojima has a thing for teasing and misleading his fans. Either way, Keighley will have a full interview with Mr. Mogren on his GTTV show tomorrow.
Clearly, contradictory to speculation that Joakim was simply an anagram for Kojima and Mogren a play on the codename "Project Ogre", the person in this picture is not Kojima. He's also clearly trolling us. Hell, Kojima is in a constant state of trolling us. I believe he was quotes after The Phantom Pain was revealed at the VGAs stating how much he loves misleading fans so that when they actually play the game they'll be that much more surprised.
While it may not be any surprise to see Kojima and the Metal Gear team goofing around and having an actor or developer pose as the CEO behind The Phantom Pain, what's the deal with Geoff Keighley running with it? While I can understand GTTV and Keighley probably put entertainment before cutting to the heart of a story, this seems like purely a marketing stunt. Nevertheless, we'll be tuning in.
Look forward to more information on this "developing story" tomorrow, whether it be related to Kojima, Metal Gear or nothing related in particular. Hopefully the bandages come off.
