Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 microtransactions incoming on Wednesday, get your Bacon Camo on
Also, Nuketown 2025 map for free
Hey look everyone, Activision will be giving away the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map for free in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 starting Wednesday (Xbox 360 exclusive initially). Okay, is everyone distracted now? Let's talk about the real news, which is Black Ops 2 is also getting microtransaction support on Wednesday.
Dubbed "Micro Items" Activision will be offering a range of items they say is to meet demand for a higher level of personalization in Black Ops 2. According to Activision's Dam Amrich:
"At the end of the day, all of these items are completely optional, and were created for players who’ve asked for more customization options. If that’s not you, that’s fine; everybody gets Nuketown 2025 for free, so definitely take advantage of that."
A shortlist of items to be added in tomorrow's patch include: 160 MSP "Personalization Packs" with armor customizations, custom reticules and a Calling Card; 80 MSP "Flags of the World" Calling Card packs; and an "Extra Slot Pack" which provides 10 Create-A-Class slots and additional storage space for Theater media.
To smooth the transition Activision will be releasing the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map for free, though "further details" on the offer will be coming on Wednesday. Suspicious, right? The Nuketown 2025 zombie map will also be available, but for 400 MSP.
Make sure to log into Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 tomorrow to check out what your favorite rifle looks like wrapped in bacon, only on Xbox 360.

EA already gets a lot of flak for saying microtransactions will be the norm for their games going forward, and this isn't much better. EA and Activision are like Coke and Pepsi at this point. Same shit, different name.
Where's my thank you for spending $90 just to get something everyone else should have waited a year to get...
Sort of like nuketown being preorder only, well now it's free to everyone.
