Techland's still hard at it, dropping a teaser for their upcoming downloadable title Call of Juarez: Gunslinger -- a title that had dropped off the radar for a bit as the company worked on Dead Island: Riptide, we suppose. Today's teaser introduces protagonist Silas Greaves, a bounty hunter and an outlaw, and likely an all around hard-ass to boot. The real tease, though, is that a full reveal of the game is now planned for March 14.
According the details revealed today, Gunslinger will focus around encounters with some of the wild west's living legends like Butch Cassidy and Jesse James. It doesn't say whether the game is about shooting these dudes, but it probably is. Why would you name your game Gunslinger, make your protagonist a bounty hunter, and then not let us shoot some infamous wild west outlaws?
Also of note is the visual style of Call of Juarez: Gunslinger, as we can see in these newly released screenshots. While Techland's been working on Call of Juarez for years now, Gunslinger really does a great job of using saturated colors and wide-open environments that works so well in western themed media. Those skyskapes, yo. Haunting.
Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is currently planned as a downloadable title on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and according to the icons in this new trailer PC as well. Hopefully we'll get some pricing information ad a release date on March 14. Stay tuned!
