If you're curious about the new Army of Two, rest assured you'll have your chance to play before the game is released. Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel will be getting an Xbox LIVE and PSN demo next Tuesday, March 12, just before the full game lands on March 26. Cooperative play is a given.
The co-op demo will lets players take Alpha and Bravo (members of T.W.O.) on a rescue mission, where they need to recover a kidnapped politician and diffuse a (Surprise twist!) another hostage situation. Why do I get the feeling that by "diffuse," EA means "shoot your way through"? Then again, maybe Alpha and Bravo have more finesse than Salem and Rios.
No. No, I couldn't even type that last part with a straight face.
The demo should give us the perfect opportunity to preview The Devil's Cartel gritty and mature attitude, a departure from previous Army of Two games. Will the change in attitude be for better or worse? Guess we'll find out soon enough.
The Devil's Cartel sees our mercenaries traveling down to Mexico to wage war against a powerful drug cartel. Despite Dead Space 3's lack of local co-op support, Army of Two will have this feature in addition to online co-op. EA and Visceral also promise a "deeper and more advanced upgrade and customization system."
