Snow Pirates aren't new to this game. They were in both previous games. Creatively named or not, Snow Pirates are a staple of the Lost Planet series.
And I don't think Mira is a love interest. Jim has got a wife and child back home, as shown in the trailer, and as previously mentioned by Capcom when they gave a basic synopsis.

That aside, the game looks cool and fun. While it is nice to see an actual plot return (there was little plot to LP2 while LP1 had a good plot), I am going to miss co-op. LP2 is super fun, even if the plot has no substance.

samwise995 Right, I've played the second game actually. I figure Capcom's just excited about "introducing" Snow Pirates to LP3, too.

They're the ones using "reveal" in their trailer and all.
Edit: Likely taking into account new players as well.

Yeah that is true, they have to consider new players, which is I guess why this was called a "reveal" trailer. And you're right, while they're (Snow Pirates) not new to the series, they are being "introduced" to this game.
