Lost Planet 3 sends us back to EDN III on June 25, trailer introduces Snow Pirates and a new Akrid
Pirates seem to take issue with strangers
Capcom decided to toss the Lost Planet 3 fans out there a little treat today. We now know the game will be arriving in North America on June 25, and June 28 in Europe. Release dates aside, we've also got a new trailer and more screenshots than you'd really care to look at, introducing some Snow Pirates and a love interest for our protagonist.
At some point during his stay on E.D.N. III, colonist Jim Peyton finds himself stumbling upon some Snow Pirates. I'm assuming they're named such because they're pirates who happen to live around snow, since the planet isn't exactly covered in open ocean. Or... something? Uncreative names aside, these guys seem to take issue with Jim being on their land, because he works for THE MAN. Before he can be executed, however, the pirate leader's incredibly youthful and undoubtedly precocious daughter Mira pulls a Pocahontas.
Jim's life is thusly saved, so he can do some heroic things in some cool suits -- such as killing Akrid. Pretty sure Jim and Mira will end up making babies by the end of the game, to populate E.D.N. III; that or she dies, but I'm willing to bet on the former.

And I don't think Mira is a love interest. Jim has got a wife and child back home, as shown in the trailer, and as previously mentioned by Capcom when they gave a basic synopsis.
That aside, the game looks cool and fun. While it is nice to see an actual plot return (there was little plot to LP2 while LP1 had a good plot), I am going to miss co-op. LP2 is super fun, even if the plot has no substance.
They're the ones using "reveal" in their trailer and all.
