After yesterday's leaks basically confirmed Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, it's no surprise that the floodgates have opened. Today, Kotaku has acquired another picture of Black Flag promotional material, this time a map of the Caribbean islands. Beyond a few unique emblems marking, well, who knows, there's not much to differentiate the maps from a standard one. Still, it wouldn't a proper pirate game without some cartography, aye?
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, said to be a pirate themed sequel, will clearly have a much deeper focus on ship management and water traversal. If it's anything like my other favorite boat video game, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, I don't think Ubisoft can go wrong. Hopefully it doesn't boil down to jumping from fast travel point to fast travel point. Hopefully there's scurvy.
My guess is the map is meant to tease a few places where treasure or some other sort of secret items can be uncovered. That seems like an Ubisoft-esque type of pre-order bonus, right? Hopefully we'll get an official announcement (likely for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3) soon, so folk can start worrying about where to preorder their game from in order to pick up this fun promotional material.
