Remember Me snuck up on us. A Capcom published action title from Dontnod Entertainment, a new studio started by a former Criterion head and a ragtag group of dedicated nerds. It's been described that they stumbled into generous funding, and in two years grew from five to eighty employees. Now, we have one of the best looking titles of the current generation. Now, we have a release date of June 5 in North America, June 7 in Europe.
It's no joke that Remember Me protagonist Nilin, the mysterious voice of Edge and premise of memory hunting, combined with an odd visual and audio remixing style is... extremely impressive. It's at times reminiscent of Mirror's Edge, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and Enslaved. Yet in every trailer I watch the one thing that sticks with me is that it actively feels like nothing is as it seems.
Remember Me will be launching June 5 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and the title is certainly proving apt, because it's certainly difficult to stop thinking about. Capcom, I believe, has found quite the partner in Dontnod Entertainment. Someone give the folk who created this trailer a raise, because it's perfectly designed to drive me insane from curiosity.
