I don't know how to introduce this post about StarCraft II's latest trailer for Heart of the Swarm without some mild spoilers, so consider yourself warned! Of course, anyone who has played the first portion of StarCraft II's campaign, Wings of Liberty, will be comfortable with all material shown. Actually, even then, if you don't want to spoil a bit of Heart of the Swarm then you might want to skip this trailer altogether. It's rather... tactless.
Of course, the new trailer which is named 'Vengeance' is all about Kerrigan, just as the single-player campaign is likely to be. It's clear, despite her return to "humanity" she still has some obvious ties to her Queen of Blades persona and powers. Though without them, she's still one mean ghost. This trailer, among other more specific spoilers, makes it clear that Kerrigan carries a heavy burden in her heart and mind that's not so easily forgotten.
While Wings of Liberty's single-player campaign was regrettably uninspired, it did one thing right -- it perfectly set up the return of Kerrigan and the likely very emotional arc that will play out in Heart of the Swarm. StarCraft II's first expansion is scheduled for release on March 12 exclusively on the PC. Check out the game's open cinematic for another look.
