Bugbear Entertainment teases 'New Car Game' with demolition derby gameplay, epic crashes
A car crash simulator sounds good to me
Bugbear Entertainment, developers of FlatOut 1 & 2 and coming off the release of Ridge Racer Unbounded, released a teaser trailer for an unannounced, "New Car Game." The teaser, which features gameplay footage seemingly of a demolition derby event. That is to say, the focus of the trailer is cars crashing together and the damage done to each vehicle in the process.
In the past year or so we've seen a lot of tech demos being released showcasing huge advances in car damage technology, but those demos haven't really translated into big games. Perhaps Bugbear, who cut their chops on the demolition derby racer FlatOut, with a bit more AAA experiences after Ridge Racer, has something great planned for next. Perhaps FlatOut is ready to become the next Burnout?
"We're making a new car game. This time we're going back to our roots - just like all of our fans have been asking us to do! If you like what you see above, you're going to love it.
It's all in-game footage!"
Put it in the books, "Next Car Game" coming from Bugbear Entertainment. The next questions are, of course, what platforms are the game coming to and when we can expect more information. If "Next Car Game" is a next-gen title, it's likely we won't hear more until Microsoft announces their new console in another month or two. If it's current gen... then we'll probably hear more very soon!
Also, of note, Bugbear is one of the third-party developers that shows up in Sony's list of PlayStation 4 developers.
