I like Playstation 4. He has cross-game chat and doesn't afraid of anything.
u wot m8?

PS4 has cross-game chat and isn't afraid of anything?
I said "doesn't afraid of anything", but yeah- the Playstation 4 has been confirmed to have cross-game chat. Looks like Sony are practically scratching around for extra features to utilize all that lovely RAM

Yes but "doesn't" doesn't make sense in that circumstance, "isn't" does. What about the afraid part - what does that mean?

Has nothing to do with RAM, but the PSN. X360's live has had cross-game chat, messages & invites from the get go. But that's awesome... my major complaint with the PS3 was the PSN. Hopefully Sony will include a mic with the console, too.

You haven't heard that 'meme', I see? Go research the 'Halo, doesn't afraid of anything' meme. Jeez, I was only kidding around

I was under the impression that the PS3 didn't have the capacity to have cross-game chat. Also the reason why navigating the PS store is so sluggish etc. In the reveal conference itself, they were saying how the upgraded RAM will help in these regards. We can now pop out of game at any point and surf the web yaddah-yaddah

That might be the case, but both systems have the same RAM so I doubt it, altho it might make make it easier.

I'm sure I read somewhere that the PS3 couldn't take full advantage of the tech at the time to enable cross-game chat? Or was it that the slim COULD have cross-game chat, and that Sony didn't bother to patch it in, instead opting for the feature to be a main selling point for PS4?

No, I haven't heard the meme. After-all, it's a meme on a 360 game and you posted it in a PlayStation forum. As I didn't get the reference, I was wondering what you were on about, that is all.

You might be right, idk. The PS3's OS might've required more RAM to implement, I just don't see why. Either way, it's a great feature and since the PSN was one of the major turn-offs for me for the PS3, it's good to see Sony are taking it a bit more serious and working to improve it.

The PS3 OS did need a lot of RAM especially initially. The OS initially had a 32/64Mb split. 64Mb accessed the VRAM and 32Mb accessed the main RAM. They eventually got this down to 48Mb overall and I don't know the split of that but even at 48Mb it's still 16Mb more than the 32Mb the Xbox 360 OS needs.

The main issue is that once they got it down to 48Mb games started to use more RAM, so Sony couldn't start adding memory intensive features as it would break any game now using the extra RAM on offer so the PS3 was stuck. The Xbox 360 OS is a far more optimised system which allowed it to have all the features it did, though next gen that will not be an issue.

On next gen both systems have 8Gb RAM and currently the PS4 is rumoured to use 512Mb of that for the OS leaving 7.5Gb for games, graphics and everything else. The 720 is rumoured to use 1Gb of their 8Gb for the OS meaning this gen the Xbox will be the least memory optimised. I think that could become an issue late into next gen but won't make a huge difference at the start. Most importantly the 512Mb the PS4 OS is rumoured to use will allow everything the PS3 didn't allow and even more.

The 720 is using GDDR3 RAM too?

The 720 is using DDR3 RAM which is more than likely running at 2133Mhz (2.1Ghz) to get the 68GB/s bandwidth.
The PS4 is using GDDR5 RAM which is running at closer to 5000Mhz (5Ghz) to give it the 176GB/s bandwidth.

The Cell was more powerful than the X360 & Wii and we all know how that turned out. I doubt RAM is going to play a major part in the next gen race.

Considering it was one of the key problems for the PS3 and multi plat titles, I'm pretty sure it will do.
