Hmm, built in hard drive certainly could be disappointing if it truly means that it can't be replaced. Don't know why they would go that route after making it swappable in the PS3.

Wonder, how good this new next-gen graphic engine will be. Saw a few demos vid and they look just amazing. And it is all still in process, so it could be even better the. Now presented vids.

It'll be good. The launch titles we've seen like Killzone: Shadow Fall and Drive Club look vastly better than anything on PS3 and typically launch titles are visually terrible. It's positive that PS4 is starting with visuals that would be accepted at any point in a generation, in 2-3 years PS4 games could look 3-4x better than they do now.

ziemlaj Considering they said they'd be putting in a "massive" hard drive, I doubt it'll be SSD.

I'm only worried about the HDD size, Sony might put only 12 GB for money-saving reasons in PS4!!!!

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm guessing the base model will come with 500 - 720Gb and the premium model with 1 - 1.5Tb of storage. As the PS3 got older the storage got more substantial ending with 500Gb. I don't see them shipping with less than that.

It would be pathetic to put something like a 12 GB hard drive in the default model. It'd be cheaper just to have a built in 12GB flash drive than a 12GB spinfusor, be quieter, less hot, more failsafe, use less power and take up less space. It makes no sense to use an old school hard drive at all if we're talking 12GB.

I highly doubt they will put a tiny HDD in the PS4. Do we know if PS4 games will have mandatory installs? I can see lots of people not buying a PS4 if it has a tiny HDD until they bring out bigger ones. Even as a person that buys Sony consoles on launch, I would wait if they don't have a substantial sized HDD.

*bleep*s, do yous understand the implications of 8GB unified GDDR5? means all components use GDDR5. the cpu? GDDR5. the gpu? GDDR5!

by comparison, what does ddr3 1866 achieve? a measly ~14.5GB/sec.

what does the GDDR5 on the gtx 580 achieve? ~188GB/sec!

so 8GB @ ~188GB/sec means high res texture all up in your face. plus pair that with a real 8core cpu... ps4 is a beast.

plus being x86 means PC ports will be easier, and in a few years hopefully we'll have 4k OLED monitors + super beefy GPUs for supersampling goodness. aawwww cinnamon and graavy

Installs happen in the background while you play so they are mandatory from what I've heard you just don't have to wait 30 minutes to play now.

PS ashantiqua, GDDR5 is a game changer it really is. I have heard that the GDDR5 in PS4 has a bandwidth of 176Gb/s though a 12Gb/s difference over the GTX 580 won't change much. I think another important factor is the APU as with everything on one chip connected directly to that RAM it is a very powerful piece of architecture.
