MS are definitely barking up the wrong tree with Kinect. Are there actually any games which have been improved by connect? Motion controls simply aren't as good as controllers, and that's the end of it.

Pretty true. It is a nice way to get younger kids involved though. Never have liked the Kinect myself, but it is fun to mess around with from time to time.

Agree with sublimetool that the device can be pretty fun to mess around with, especially with friends. Probably won't invest in one until I see it being utilized properly though.

I don't mind it - though,I don't play it as often as I'd like.

It's fun for parties with games like Kinect Sports and other things, and I'm sure the workout/dance games are good too. I, personally, am not looking for anything more with mine.

both MS and Sony are gonna have to drop the silly no used games garbage if they want ME to purchase either new system. cause im perfectly fine with 360 and PS3 for as long as they keep supporting them. sure Watch Dogs wont be nearly as stunning on the current gen systems as the PS4 version, but thats ok, as that game's just gonna be GOTY no matter what.

Sony confirmed that they'll be allowing used games on their system.

Tracking of six, rather than two? Um, JD4 can track four moving players at once. And they need to be able to make the Kinect swivel, both up and down. Left and right would be appreciated too,

I think even if the hardware in the Xbox 720 is up to spec I don't think Microsoft has their head in the game. I mean you listen to Sony these days and you hear a message of intent, Jack Tretton yesterday said that PS4 is for true gamers and fans of AAA core titles. You hear Shuhei Yoshida talking about used games being allowed on the system and a possible tiered subscription that doesn't put features behind a pay-wall, but merely offers free and discounted stuff.

All I've heard from Microsoft is a renewed focus on Kinect after Kinect sold 26 million units. Personally I don't care about Kinect and I don't know any core gamer that grew up with PlayStation and the like that care about it either. It concerns me as well that in the Xbox 360 era 70% of their first party studios make Kinect games the other 30% make Halo, Fable and Forza and that's it. If Xbox 720 focuses on Kinect and other gimmicks to sell units I fear for Microsoft's future in the industry I really do.

wait until the 720's debut before you go assuming they're throwing everything into Kinect again. MS just isnt as into 1st party titles like Sony, they still get all the multiplatform AAA titles too. i think theyve somewhat learned that their hardcore fanbase doesnt like Kinect and this time around wont be trying to shove it down everyone's throat, and instead market it solely as an option for kids and family games.

First party titles are important... and now that I think about it, what has Microsoft done lately? Halo 4? Gears 3 and Forza 4 were both 2011. Where's the originality? I look at upcoming games for the PS4 like Knack and think to myself, when's the last time Microsoft came up with something original?

MS goes with what works (sells), which is Halo, Gears, Forza, etc. cant really blame them, a new IP is a huge risk.
