Frictional Games releases update on final stages of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs development
Not sure if pants are prepared
Fans of Frictional Games and their game Amnesia have likely been in a cold sweat waiting for news on Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs. The title, originally planned for release in October, 2012 and then pushed to January, 2013, is reaching the end of its development, according to an update from the development team. "Some work is still left to be done," but Frictional hopes to get the game out during Q2 (Apr. - June).
According to the team thechineseroom, who partnered with Frictional Games for A Machine For Pigs, has finished the game, but there's still plenty of, "testing, tweaking, optimizing, porting, translating and all those things that are part of the process of creating and releasing a game." Yet the question lingers, why has development taken this long in the first place?
"Originally we thought it would be a short, experimental game set in the universe of Amnesia, but thechineseroom had a vision that was bigger than that. As their work progressed, the potential for a much greater project emerged. What we ended up with is no longer what we had first imagined, but a fully fledged Amnesia game. A different kind of Amnesia, but definitely not a short experiment."
Hopefully we'll hear more on Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs' release date, pricing, and finally get a good look at this year's most anticipated horror actually looks like in motion. Make sure to keep a spare pair of pants handy for when the trailers start being released.
