Diablo 3 ain't coming back. Flop of the century to be honest. When Jay wrote the apologys about the game or any other stupid thing he did he would always mention "mistakes" or honest little mishaps that went wrong with the game. There were no little design flaws, bugs I can deal with, server errors I can sort of deal with but creating a well oiled hampster wheel with the sole focus of having players buy and trade through the auction to make a quick nickel and dime is just an outrage. 13 years a gigantic budget and a supporting fanbase and that is what they came up with, its like there not even trying to show how corporate they've become. Blizzcon is a bunch of smoke a mirrors until I see Actiblizzard create something with their own blood and sweat.

Actiblizzard doesn't equal Blizzard

Now that he-who-shall-not-be-named is no longer on the D3 team let's see some change for the better.
Granted that Jay was an idiot, but he was also corporates bitch. Anybody else whos going to be assigned to the next cushy position on the Diablo team is going to be chosen by the money grabbing non-gamers who own the company. What rustles my jimmies is the fact that Diablo 3 was a huge success in a business sense because it sold so well, pretty much guaranteed sequel.

fixes the horrible itemization by adding in gems or something
You may be referring to something else, but D3 does have a gem system.

Problem is, the crafting of said gems gets to be a little ridiculous and not worth the grind.

I hope they announce a D3 expansion pack that fixes the horrible itemization by adding in gems or something. Now that he-who-shall-not-be-named is no longer on the D3 team let's see some change for the better.
