Bungine's Destiny is set to be revealed on February 17, a portion of the gaming press elite has already had the opportunity to try the game out, and the ARG continues to count down. How about we add a potential release date to the mix? A Destiny listing popped up on French retailer MicroMania.fr listing the game for an October 6 release. Do they know something we don't? Or are they just blowing smoke?
Let's look back on what we know: Destiny is planned for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but according to court documents it was originally planned to be an Xbox 360 exclusive for a time. We know that the next generation of consoles is rumored to be coming out later this year, potentially in late October or November. Thus, it would make sense that Bungie want to release their current-gen game before the next-gen hits.
Since it's just a single website showing the October 6 release date for Destiny, we're going to label this a hard rumor for now. While October in general sounds like a good release period, until Bungie says there's a more specific release date, there isn't one. Who cares about a release date at this point, right? Let's just see the game Bungie has been working on for so long.
