Just think, if The Walking Dead had just used something -OTHER- than zombies, it'd have been so much better / more original!
What? The silent ninjas?

Because this isn't trying to copy CoD Zombies.
It looks like it will be better.

Call me crazy, but I don't think zombies are getting old quite yet. Sure, they're everywhere, and I might even say overdone; but I have not seen any quality zombie titles in too long. I thought I was getting sick of zombies until DayZ was released, then realized that IMO it's not the quantity of zombie related things that are getting old, but rather the lack of quality in every release.
Thats what I've been thinking too. I mean yea tearing through waves of the undead is fun for awhile but it gets tiresome and boring when thats all the games bring to the table. Developers need to come up with more interesting ways to use them. Thats what makes the Walking Dead and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare so good, the zombies aren't the entire focus. Sure they're there but they're more or less just another obstacle and another threat in an already harsh environment, one that will kill (and eat) you if you screw around.

What I hate is that this is Sniper Elite. I mean, there's so many other things you can do other than zombies. We've got historical figures to kill and soldiers to pick off.
Besides, Sniper Elite has always been a stealth game, no? One that required strategy with your moves because if you mucked up, the soldiers would be on you? With zombies, it's just pick them off, next, pick them off, next, pick them off, next.

It was fun when they threw a curve-ball with the whole Red Dead Redemption thing, but now this is just becoming a last resort to earn an extra bucks.

Yeah, I know William. But what if it wasn't zombies?!

Even if you aren't completely tired of zombies, you can still see the lack of the creativity. I mean, honestly, zombies have been used ALL over the place for the last decade. It's about time they start you know, mixing it up a bit.
Half-life has an alright substitute for zombies. It's still pretty similar to a zombie, but it at least relies on dem headcrabs.
Deadspace has a very good replacement. Not only do they rely on limbs, but they (for the most part, and looking at DS1) are different visually too. Similar concept though.

If developers want to have some semi-human monster that comes in great numbers, I really believe they should at least put the effort in creating something SOMEWHAT new, visually and conceptually.

the walking dead comic book series was released way before any of this video game craze. the walking dead comics are some of the best ive seen. the show on the other hand was released to joe shlub who is too cool to read comics.

I can't speak for the game at hand until it has been released, but if it is in fact a quality game with some distinguishable features and mechanics, I can get over how many other zombie games there are.

Seriously, enough with zombies already. It's been done so many times now and it just seems like a lazy design choice now. "Uhh what should we add to our game to make it appeal to more people?"
"Uhhh, zombies! Everyone loves killing zombies!"
Absolutely agree. Zombies were old by the time L4D-2 came out. I was actually tired of zombies before that. Just think, if The Walking Dead had just used something -OTHER- than zombies, it'd have been so much better / more original!

I'm afraid that even if this game turned out to be great, it'd feel sort of lame just from the over-saturation of zombie games...

No, just stop.
