Remember Rebellion's little tease from a couple weeks ago, where a teaser trailer and perverted version of the familiar Sniper Elite logo appeared? Well, we can put away all our thinking caps as the studio has revealed its new project. Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army is a standalone expansion to Sniper Elite V2, where you and up to three friends fight off the zombie horde as best you can. Not quite vampires or aliens, but zombies are always fun to kill. Rebellion offers the following synopsis:
In the dying flames of World War II, a despairing Hitler unleashes one final, unholy gamble – a legion of undead super soldiers that threatens to overwhelm the whole of Europe. You are Karl Fairburne – the sniper who shaped world history. You are one of the last living souls in Germany. You must team up or die. American, German, Russian – previous military allegiances no longer matter. Now it's just the living versus the dead. Only a Sniper Elite with nerves of steel and a steady aim stands a chance against Hitler’s Nazi Zombie Army!
Nazi Zombie Army features the series' first co-op action, where you and your friends have to work together or die. A German officer, scientist, and Russian soldier join up with protagonist Karl Fairburne, so there really are no distinctions between who the zombies attack. New enemies await the four, like occult commanders, undead suicide infantry, and roof-jumping snipers, to name a few. The X-Ray "kill cam" returns in NZA to show off every decaying body part you hit for that extra bit of bragging rights.
Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army arrives on February 28 for $14.99 exclusively on Steam. It's available as a single purchase or in a discounted four-pack for $44.97, since what good is a co-op game without friends? Pre-orderers can take off an extra 20% until launch.
