They already gave it a name: Sylveon. I'm not sure if it is Normal, Flying, or anything. Maybe its a new type of Eeveelution, ones with secondary types.
We know this already. This is a very old thread at this point.

Im guessing its a steel one from the name. Silver?
The more common theory is that the "sylv" in it's name comes from the word "Sylph" which refers to magical creatures - specifically, fairies.

Well, if Pokemon Smash is right, then Sylveon has to be a new type. They confirmed that Sylveon is not Flying, and I seriously doubt they'd have a Normal type eeveelution this early. There are many other types to choose from, and Eevee already exists, so its probably a new type.

Can also be
Normal/ Other
Where the secondary type changes with what plate it is holding. In black/white they introduced quite a few Pokemon that switches forms and types.

Bug fits is equally as well as either Normal or Flying does, to be honest. The big gem-like eyes show that more than anything. I've been looking at the scans trying to determine what attack it's using and seeing if that would give us any insight, but I can't come up with anything solid, especially considering it's likely that all move animations have had to be overhauled to sure the new 3D model battle scenes.
it could be a bug type but i dout it and it seems to be using razor leaf or leaf storm in the caption/battle scene

Sylveon has ribbons like a kite. :3 It can probably just levitate like most can. (not meaning the ability called levitate)

I'm gonna guess it could be not flying only cause it doesn't have wings
The again it does have those ribbons on it, maybe it's wings?
It doesn't look like a bug so maybe not bug
Perhaps dragon? I guess it would look a little more threatening

Idk as long as it turns out to be a good pokemon

Not to mention that pokemon don't necessarily need to be capable of flight or even be a bird to be a flying type in the first place. After all we're talking about a series in which balloons, a sea serpent, and dandelions are all considered a "flying type" here. Then you have Sauropods that fly using leaves and a pair of Ratites (flightless birds) that fly using god only knows what.

If this eeveelution is a flying type it'll probably fly the same way pokemon like Shaymin or Rayquaza does.

Sylveon doesnt necissarly have ta fly to be flying type. As of now to me it resembles sylphs and fairies. Also I am sure it was using airslash in that screenshot and trailer the energy blade moves.

I just deeply analyzed this picture (like for the 9286270968109th time) and came to contemplate the following idea:

Will Sylveon and the rest of the Eevelutions receive new formes? If my hypothesis of Sylveon is right (it being a flying type) how the heck would it fly (if the ideas that I gave in my last comment are wrong)?

This seems far out, but it would be beautiful to see a flowery Leafeon, a darker Umbreon, an even more mysteryous Espeon, a snowflake-y Glaceon, a bubbly Vaporeon, an ash-y Flareon, an even more vicious looking Jolteon and a *winged* Sylveon; that is, if it's really a flying type.

Now, don't hate me because of my comment, at least don't hate it as much as the light type speculation xD
Magic, that's how it'll fly. One could also well ask how on earth Landorus' Therian forme flies, but fly it does.
