Teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic: Relics of the Gree arrives, update goes live tomorrow
Coincides with game update 1.7
Back at the start of the year, BioWare laid down some of its update plans for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Among the talk of Rise of the Hutt Cartel and same gender romances was a change to one of the game's PvP areas. Executive producer Jeff Hickman didn't elaborate at the time about that last one, but now we know what he was getting at. When game update 1.7 goes live tomorrow, the Relics of the Gree in-game event begins, which sees players head to PvP world Ilum to investigate an ancient Gree ship.
A teaser trailer has been released to show what gamers can expect to find on the Western Ice Shelf of Ilum. The Gray Secant has mysteriously appeared on the planet, and the Gree are offering advanced weapons and armor, among other items, to anyone brave (or foolhardy) enough to investigate the ship. Things aren't all roses at the ship, however, with enemies, droids, and a truly massive wampa requiring all of your skill and firepower to overcome.
Game update 1.7 also adds a new reputation system to The Old Republic, with different rewards available as you move through the tiers. Various quests and tasks must be completed for your faction and its allies in order to advance, so it should give players even more of an incentive to play each day.
Relics of the Gree runs from February 12 to 26, and is open to all SWTOR players level 45 and higher. It's in a PvP region restricted to groups of four players however, but repeatable missions in the Southern Bowl don't require killing others. Game servers will be down from 1:30am to 7am PST for the update, so plan your MMO schedule accordingly. Sleep is always an option, if you're so inclined.
