Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen trailer shows Death as an actual enemy you can fight

Oh look, you'll even fight monsters hiding in chests
If you like fighting a**hole bosses in video games, then the Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen expansion should be up your alley. The latest trailer showcases some of the new enemies you'll be encountering come April 23, including Death itself.
Granted, this isn't the first time we're hearing about Death being an enemy, but now we've got a brief glimpse of it in action. In addition to Death, the expansion will also bring in the Eliminator, the Pyre Saurian, sneaky Maneaters (Jerks!), and more. Personally, I find those giant maggots the grossest of the bunch. Everything else ranges from ugly to badass, but giant maggots? Eugh.

So I've been hearing around that this will be only available as an on-disc purchase with the full game... Is someone pulling my leg here or is this true? Because I was really expecting it to be released as digital or hard-copy dlc...
