I'm guessing you still haven't played the demo for Legends yet? If you had, you'd know what we're talking about. It really is gonna be great
If I recall, even though Origins was amazing, it didn't really pull in the huge profits Ubi would have liked it to have. That said, even though Legends is basically 100% certain to be amazing, it's hugely unlikely to sell as well as it needs to justify a third game -- especially going up against GTA5 and the other assorted pre-next-gen releases in September.

I can't wait until the articles after September.

"Rayman Legends didn't sell to our expectations."
"We are going to shelve Rayman because it didn't sell."
etc.

It was by sheer dumb luck that Origins sold as much as it did. I was surprised to hear that it was getting a sequel after Ubisoft posted the number of units Origins sold.

But they should have just released the Wii U version first and then ported it over later on for a win/win situation. There wouldn't have been a delay, and the other console owners could have a chance to play it.
LOL that's what people wanted in the first place!

Well I guess my Wii U will be sitting gathering dust for a few more months than I was hoping. Curse you Ubisoft!

You guys are acting as if Rayman would have sold millions on the Wii U if it wasn't delayed lol
Ubisoft just lost a lot of potential money by delaying it to September. A game doesn't need to sell millions in order to be successful.
A game could be perfect in every way, but if it only sells a few thousands or so then it's not successful.
But then again I don't care if it was delayed or not since I don't own a Wii U as of now and I'm getting it on a console I own and no I don't see how they lost potential sales as not that many people own a Wii U and they'd have made more money anyway if they released it on the 360/PS3 to begin with instead of making it an exclusive. :V

It was delayed twice. The game was supposed to be a launch title. It was the only playable demo at Wii U kiosks, and was then delayed to Feb. Now it's been delayed again, because they want to release all three consoles at once. Also, one of the devs posted on neo gaf saying the entire team put in crazy hours to get the game done; meaning not seeing much of their friends/family, only to be told it was being delayed. Ubisoft's reply is "exclusive demo for Wii U".

That isn't the point. The point is that Ubisoft delayed a complete game because they can't be arsed to make two marketing campaigns for Rayman Legends.

And who knows? It might have sold well on the Wii U. Doubt it would be a system seller, but it was getting a lot of positive word of mouth. Ubisoft just lost a lot of potential money by delaying it to September. A game doesn't need to sell millions in order to be successful.

The above pic is so accurate, it's not even funny.

Congrats Ubisoft. You just sent poor Rayman to his grave... again. As if it wasn't bad enough releasing Origins in the same month as Skyward Sword, Call of Duty: MW3 and Skyrim, now you are going to have Legends face off against GTAV?

The reasoning and practicality for Ubisoft's ways with this game seem kind of... not there.
Like Rayman's arms and legs.

OH!
