Gameplay trailer gives first real look at Activision's The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
Okay, so zombies are kind of gross
This isn't exactly the same as Telltale's stellar The Walking Dead episodic series, but Acti and Terminal Reality are giving the franchise a go with The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Today, we get our first real look at the game in a gameplay trailer. No real gameplay, so much as in-game footage, however.
Survival Instinct is expected to hit stores in March, but you can start pre-ordering now, and GameStop and Amazon.com both want your money. If you're interested in reserving the game, GameStop pre-orders are rewarded with a Herd Mode, which is described as:
How many frenzied flesh-eaters can you survive against before joining their ranks? Take on endless waves of walkers, each more dangerous than the last, in the all-new Herd Mode. Each wave of undead held off brings with it a new outbreak of hungry biters and new opportunities to rack up an even higher score.
If you'd rather not give your business to GameStop, Amazon.com has a confirmed pre-order bonus too, the Walking Execution Pack. That entails a "unique" weapon kit that unlocks several melee items: a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, hatchet, and advanced machete. Works well, since ammo is going to be rare.

The trailer looks like 90% of the game was ripped off of the Telltale Games' version of the Walking Dead.
Maybe Activision is run by the North Koreans, they seem to love ripping images from other games as well.
*edit*
Forgot to say that I think having the game play like The Last of Us but with a bigger focus on survival, the characters, and normal zombies that are more like obstacles.
That's what I was thinking when I was watching it. I doubt this'll be worth a rental either.
