'Obscure' delivering 2.5D side-scrolling, zombie destroying action to XBLA, PSN and PC this spring

Freshly formed studio Mighty Rocket Games has announced their first project: Obscure. No, not the survival horror title from 2005, though Mighty Rocket Games does employ some of those original developers. The new Obscure is a 2.5D shooter with four player cooperative play, like a side scrolling Left 4 Dead. Look for Obscure to release on PSN, XBLA and PC later this spring.

Thriving on an arcade-borne nature, Obscure's combat will be based around combos, follow-up attacks and score multipliers. With four playable characters (three dudes, one chick trope) each with their own skills, gameplay should always be fresh. Oh, and of course there's four-player co-op too, because killing zombies alone is always worse than killing zombies with friends.

Less survival horror than teen slasher flick, Obscure should deliver a grand downloadable co-op experience that hopefully takes some risks and makes itself stand out from the crowd.
