Freshly formed studio Mighty Rocket Games has announced their first project: Obscure. No, not the survival horror title from 2005, though Mighty Rocket Games does employ some of those original developers. The new Obscure is a 2.5D shooter with four player cooperative play, like a side scrolling Left 4 Dead. Look for Obscure to release on PSN, XBLA and PC later this spring.
Thriving on an arcade-borne nature, Obscure's combat will be based around combos, follow-up attacks and score multipliers. With four playable characters (three dudes, one chick trope) each with their own skills, gameplay should always be fresh. Oh, and of course there's four-player co-op too, because killing zombies alone is always worse than killing zombies with friends.
Less survival horror than teen slasher flick, Obscure should deliver a grand downloadable co-op experience that hopefully takes some risks and makes itself stand out from the crowd. Eh, even without any risks it should still be fun. Look out for more details soon, or mark your calendars for its spring release on PC, XBLA and PSN.
