Regardless of how many signatures this petition ends with, I'd still expect the PC to get a port due to the lucrativeness of the platform. I'm not entirely sure Rockstar would be so willing to blow out a major release platform all because they're apparently scared about a little piracy which exists on all console platforms for all mainstream release games.

Rockstar has started ignoring PC since 2010 starting with the release of RED DEAD REDEMPTION. After so much requests from fans all over the world, the result is in front of us. I know now that Rockstar is console oriented. But, if it change, i would love to play GTA V on my PC. The biggest entertainment and the biggest dream = GTA.

I'd like a time machine.

First i'd like to allow this petition to go ahead and see how R* handle it.

Then i'd like to go back in time and stop the petition from happening and see how R* handle it.

My guess would be absolutely no difference.

So I guess Max Payne 3 one of the best PC ports in 10 years didn't happen? Rockstar will make this happen on PC when they get around to it and GTA has always been on PC.

Red Dead Redemption didn't materialise sure but that could have been a Rockstar San Diego issue given that they are tiny. If Rockstar North wanted them to make Red Dead Redemption and then Undead Nightmare, before moving onto another game in the Red Dead franchise they wouldn't have had the man power to make a PC port.

Developing games for all platforms isn't as clear cut as just sticking it on PC. If the man power and time isn't there it won't happen. Fortunately with GTA they have a big enough team at Rockstar North that when the core Console build is complete, half can go work on the expansion and half can go work on finishing up PC. This game will come to PC but like every GTA since GTA II don't expect it until 6 months after the core Console launch.

I can see why PC fans want a specified release date. Thats understandable. But i dont see why some people are worried about it not being made.

I am pretty confident we will see one a couple of months after the console release. I wouldnt worry too much about that.

I don't see why people keep making a big deal about some insignificant mere 150'000 signatures on an internet petition.
  • R* would need to be able to sell 10 times that many copies to make it worth it and much more to get rich off it.
  • It's no secret that sites like that ask for an e-mail address as the only proof of identity. A lot of internet users have multiple e-mail accounts (for obvious reasons) and a lot of the kids who've voted there have obviously voted several times.
  • Nobody is going to be able to prove the percentage of real votes in there. My guess is that only about 20% are duplicates, since many have voted multiple times, but most wouldn't bother.

Pretty much this. They're expected to sell, at the very least, 18 million copies (I forgot the time zone) most of which will come from the PS3 and 360 versions. 150,000 is nothing, especially with the all media attention these days.

Thanks for reminding me and giving me hope that this time GTA won't come out as a port on PC as Max Payne 3 is the only game that is developed platform specific by a Rockstar internal development team. GTA Vice City, San Andreas, IV are all ports of the console versions. But, above all, thanks for making me optimistic about GTA V.

Who's to say that all 150,000 petitioners are true PC gamers and are seriously looking for GTA V rather than just trolls wanting to see how high and how quickly they can help make the number go up? There are a lot of imbeciles on the planet even in the video game community, but to think that 150,000, heck even 40,000 are follish enough to complain about something that was never confirmed NOT to happened, not understand enough about possible reasons that it wouldn't happen and at the same time intelligent enough to start a petition? That's quite oxymoronic.

Oh my god.
Okay, one single game not being on PC doesn't mean it's a trend. It doesn't mean the entire company has sworn off PC for good.
Furthermore, every major GTA game ever made (and some that weren't major) has made it to PC...how does one game from another franchise not going to PC mean GTA won't?

In other words:

Consider, if you will, the facts:
  • Every major GTA game has made it to PC. That's GTA III, VC, SA, IV.
  • GTA SA for PC was announced 1.5 months before it was released on the consoles
  • GTA IV for PC was announced 4 months after it was released on the consoles
So, not only is V more or less guaranteed to be released on PC, the past shows that it's very unlikely to be announced until the game is out, perhaps July this year at the absolute earliest.
