Grand Theft Auto V's PC petition zooms by 150,000 signatures
Still no official word from Rockstar
Grand Theft Auto V is set to arrive on September 17 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but so far there's been no word of a PC version. A petition has been going around on Change.org to show Rockstar the demand for GTAV on the PC, and the signatures have been climbing ever since. First it blew by 40,000, then at the end of November it was over 110,000, and now at the beginning of February, it's over 150,000.
Rockstar has remained silent on the subject except to say all platforms are being considered. The petition states it's a "big shame" to not have GTAV on the PC, especially given how active the modding community is for the series. Eventually there has to be a PC version considering so many previous entries had one, just for now there's nothing anyone can do except sign that petition.
It shouldn't be too long before the petition reaches 200,000 signatures, and when it does hopefully there's some kind of officla word from Rockstar. A day and date release with the console versions would be the most welcome, although having the game on the PC at all is just fine.

First i'd like to allow this petition to go ahead and see how R* handle it.
Then i'd like to go back in time and stop the petition from happening and see how R* handle it.
My guess would be absolutely no difference.
Red Dead Redemption didn't materialise sure but that could have been a Rockstar San Diego issue given that they are tiny. If Rockstar North wanted them to make Red Dead Redemption and then Undead Nightmare, before moving onto another game in the Red Dead franchise they wouldn't have had the man power to make a PC port.
Developing games for all platforms isn't as clear cut as just sticking it on PC. If the man power and time isn't there it won't happen. Fortunately with GTA they have a big enough team at Rockstar North that when the core Console build is complete, half can go work on the expansion and half can go work on finishing up PC. This game will come to PC but like every GTA since GTA II don't expect it until 6 months after the core Console launch.
I am pretty confident we will see one a couple of months after the console release. I wouldnt worry too much about that.
Thanks for reminding me and giving me hope that this time GTA won't come out as a port on PC as Max Payne 3 is the only game that is developed platform specific by a Rockstar internal development team. GTA Vice City, San Andreas, IV are all ports of the console versions. But, above all, thanks for making me optimistic about GTA V.
Okay, one single game not being on PC doesn't mean it's a trend. It doesn't mean the entire company has sworn off PC for good.
Furthermore, every major GTA game ever made (and some that weren't major) has made it to PC...how does one game from another franchise not going to PC mean GTA won't?
In other words:
