Activision announces Skylanders SWAP Force, another Skylanders game with new series of toys
Squeezing another Skylanders in for the current console gen
Skylanders has proven insanely successful as a game series and toy line, so it's not surprising Activision would announce an entirely new game for the franchise before the next console generation kickstarts. Due for "Fall 2013," Skylanders SWAP Force marks the next chapter in the Skylanders game 'n' toy franchise. The name is meaningful here, basically describing the new swappable figures.
SWAP Force introduces a new line of toys to the series, which can be separated in two and switched with other figures. You know, like when you bite a gummy bear in half and match it to another halved gummy bear of a different color. Only in this case, you can actually do something with the mismatched things. This video might do a better job explaining:
Acti has already confirmed that the game will be released to Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and 3DS, through three different development studios. Vicarious Visions will be in charge of the Wii U, PS3, and 360 versions, n-Space in charge of 3DS, and Beenox handling the Wii version.
Just last month, publisher Activision revealed that the Skylander series had brought in over $500 million in the United States. Color us incredibly impressed.

it doesn't matter mate. spyro died when it was not from insomniac games anymore. it changed hands and as a result it's altered to meet the wishes of it's new owner.
people say that what EA was back at the start of the current console gen activision is becoming today, i don't know about you but activision is outside my comfort zone these days. it's game giants like them that'l be responsible for the next game-crash one day if you ask me.
This one is on a new engine, and designed with HD graphics in mind. It's still coming to Wii, but also coming to Wii U, PS3, and 360, and probably next gen consoles with Sony and Microsoft.
Spyro is in the game, of course, but don't bash it because of that. Spyro is pretty faithful to his classic and legends counterparts with his moveset and personality. Not to mention many classic elements like Moneybags, Sparx, Cynder, and more are perfectly replicated here.
it's just how it works. it's business.
Can someone say "Cash-cow"?
