Sometimes the internet just doesn't give a damn. A good example of this is indie darling Dyad, made by Shawn McGrath and exclusively available on PS3. Or at least it was until we found out it was coming to Steam when NeoGaf hacked the Gibson and leaked the announcement earlier today.
Due to the leak, that means no fancy launch trailer and press release, unfortunately. It does, however, mean we get this amazing announcement video recorded straight from Shawn McGrath's MacBook webcam. McGrath may have preferred something a bit more... surprising. Considering he's making the best out of a bad situation, I don't think he could have done any better.
"Yeah, hi. I'm Shawn McGrath, I made Dyad. A bunch of people on the NeoGaf today, they hacked the Steam database or whatever magic they were doing and figured out that Dyad is coming out on Steam in March."
"This is the official Steam announcement, how f**ing boring is this? Anyways, March, Dyad on Steam."
Where the earlier Steam leaks only foretold that Dyad would be coming to PCs, McGrath confirms the port and announces a March release. McGrath is also aiming to bring Dyad to Linux and Mac, perhaps at the same time as the Windows release, but that's only a maybe at this point. Also, Vita version is still in the works.
Do the right thing and check out Dyad when it hits Steam in March, if only because sometimes a personal message like McGrath's is better than a manufactured press release and trailer. This is one of those times and hopefully McGrath is rewarded for it.
