In their most recent newsletter, Stoic offered up another massive update on The Banner Saga's progress. Project Update #30 offered the game's backers plenty to read, but at the very bottom, we learn that the devs are now striving for a mid-2013 release.
For those who might've forgotten, The Banner Saga is an indie RPG being developed by a three-man team comprised of some talented members of the industry, who had moved on to form their own team after leaving BioWare Austin and Star Wars: The Old Republic. Not that EA's highly criticized MMO is their only experience. Between the three guys, we're seeing talent from DC Comics, NASA, Shadowbane, and Star Wars: Galaxies. It's all right there on the project's Kickstarter page.
About a month after announcing The Banner Saga, the project managed to accumulate over $700,000 in crowd funds via Kickstarter. The game was originally expected to come out last fall, in November, but Stoic now anticipates release toward the middle of 2013.
