Some retailers are reporting a shipping problem with the delivery of Fire Emblem: Awakening which may delay the game's retail availability until later this week. Officially, Awakening releases today, but some retailers are stating the boxes won't be up for sale until Wednesday (Best Buy) or even Friday (GameStop). While Nintendo's official launch press release has gone out, it makes no mention of shipping delays.
Amazon.com has posted the following warning on the game's profile:
Potential Shipping Delay
Delivery of Fire Emblem: Awakening pre-orders may be affected by manufacturer shipping delays. Amazon apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
As there has been no official word from Nintendo on the matter, it's difficult to tell if whether the delay is effecting all units or only a portion of them. It's recommended you check your shipping information or call your local retailer to check and see if you'll have to deal with the day. There's not word on if the issue is affecting the Fire Emblem: Awakening bundle either.
Fire Emblem: Awakening is officially planned for release today, exclusively on the 3DS. While our review is still forthcoming (I'm doing my best!), it's definitely something 3DS owners aren't going to want to miss. Even if a manufacturing shipping error delays the game a few days.
