I'm guessing that both Cyberpunk 2077, and Witcher 3 are being done with this Engine?

tekmosis It's kinda vague. Almost certainly Witcher 3, and what they're doing right now with Cyberpunk is REDengine3 but I wonder if they're thinking they might iterate on the engine again before that game gets released.

Plus CryEngine 3, Frostbite 2 and Unreal Engine 4.. While Unreal Engine 4 is the only truly new one of the three I mentioned, CryEngine 3 and Frostbite 2 haven't been pushed at all so will be popular next gen choices as well for some developers.

There are lots of tools out there now that are not only gorgeous to look at but also make creating games with them easier than ever before. Epic have said a few times that Unreal Engine 4 is streamlined to the point where developers in the next generation could save months lowering the cost of game development substantially.

I just started playing Witcher 2 and that game is gorgeous. Can't wait to see what they put out next and the only areas that I can really see being improved are the load times (which was mentioned as going away!) and skin textures. The new engines, like BlackLabel mentioned, are really shaping up quite nicely.

Possibly worth waiting until nearer to 2014 so you have the best GPU you can afford. I think a lot of people are going to be lured into upgrading when the Nvidia GeForce Titan GPU comes out in a month or two, but towards the end of the year they'll have even more powerful cards dropping that will be even better suited to The Witcher 3 next year.

Well, that sounds really interesting especially for us Witcher fans. I think I'm gonna afraid my machine for it...
It's actually a good thing REDengine3 was developed, at least, that's something any fans can look forward to.
