It was probably my favorite rumor of E3 2012, three mysteriously leaked screenshots from Ubisoft claiming that "Judgment Is Coming." Along the bottom of one of the screenshots was the label "POP_Zero" which at the time we assumed to mean Prince of Persia Zero, given the setting and developer. Sadly, the game made no appearance at E3 and we've seen been left waiting.
Today that changed, as a newly leaked video has been found which is believed to be connected to the Prince of Persia Zero screenshots. The new video is for a game named Osiris, made by, "the studio that brought you Assassin's Creed." It's a rough concept video of live actors and spliced footage that will later be redone in computer graphics. The connection? The similarly styled Ubisoft logo, the Egyptian setting, and the "hero" who happens to be a quite large gentleman.
Then, of course, there's the fact that Osiris is the Egyptian god of the afterlife, a merciful judge of the dead. "Judgment is coming," remember? Looks like we have our long lost Prince of Persia Zero, though there's no other connection to the Prince of Persia franchise at this point.
Maybe we'll hear more about Osiris soon in less speculative circumstances. Depending on the game's platforms a reveal could either be in the near future (Xbox 360/PlayStation 3) or be dependent on when Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles are announced. I'd expect the latter, otherwise Ubisoft and Ubisoft Montreal would surely have announced the game at last year's E3 or since.
