More good news for Vita fans today, as the beautiful HD Vita port of Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii has been confirmed for US release. Originally ported and localized by Ignition, whose US operations have since been shifted, the new localization will be redone entirely by Aksys. Amazing game that's been updated for HD, localization that can build upon the success of the original title, Muramasa Rebirth has everything it needs to be great.
Murasmasa Rebirth has been completely designed for the Vita, with HD graphics and fine-tuned controls, but for the most part the gameplay itself will remain unchanged. There are still two stories, one that follows Momohime and the other following Kisuke, and the four new characters previously revealed for the update look to be only available as premium DLC. Their availability for purchase, at least, is new.
Otherwise, the only content update will be rounding out the acquirable weapons to a grand total of 108. 108 blades to discover, each with their own unique power. Umm, and did I mention HD graphics?
Muramasa Rebirth will be coming to the Vita, but there's currently no release time frame. The Japanese version will be available March 29, but it'll likely be months before we hear news of a North American or European release date. Hey, at least it's coming here at all, right? Big thanks to Aksys for bringing it over! Hopefully the new localization goes smoothly.
