Call of Duty: Black Ops 2's Revolution DLC launches today (or as it's known in the scene, CoD:BlOps2ReDLC) and as is standard for the brand much media has been made available. We've got an all new trailer showing off the new multiplayer maps and zombie content, along with almost a dozen screenshots as well. As per usual, the content is Xbox 360 exclusive initially for $14.99/1200 MSP, or as part of the season pass.
I'm having a bit of a hard time concentrating on this news, because after listening to that AC/DC Back in Black song for the billionth time in the Revolution trailer I had a minor panic attack. Is this life, now? Listening to that AC/DC song every time a Black Ops game is launched, along with every following DLC release? I used to like that song. I used to like it, everyone.
Back on topic, here's what's included in the Revolution DLC pack:
- Four multiplayer maps
- Downhill - Snowy alpine chateau
- Mirage - Sand devastated luxury villa
- Hydro - Hydro-electric dam in Pakistan
- Grind - Skate park in Venice Beach
- Zombie co-op map
- Die Rise - Maze of crumbling skyscrapers in a ravaged Chinese city
- New competitive zombie mode "Turned"
- "Peacekeeper" multiplayer weapon"
There you have it, the Revolution DLC pack in its entirety. To be fair, it's more content than you'd usually expect from a Call of Duty map pack and the maps actually look really interesting. Grind in particular looks like a lot of fun, though it's tough to tell how it'll actually flow in terms of gameplay. And of course, getting to play as a zombie in the new "Turned" has a lot of potential.
Again, the Revolution DLC pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is available today exclusively for Xbox 360. Expect it to come to other platforms in at least another months time. The pack will cost $14.99/1200 MSP, or it's included with the Black Ops 2 season pass.
