Today has proven to be one of the saddest days for the most diehard Darksiders fans. When THQ's assets were being sold off, no one bought Vigil Games, spelling certain doom for Darksiders. But for optimists, there may still be a chance the series would survive through another studio, say if the IP were bought up after the fact.
For instance, Platinum Games' executive director and producer Atsushi Inaba posted on Twitter this afternoon that he would "love" to buy Darksiders. The original tweet is in Japanese, but translated, it reads: "Oh man in THQ's big sale it looks like nobody's bought Darksiders ... I'd love to buy that (if it was cheap)."
Obviously, saying something like that on Twitter versus actually handing over the money are two different things. Still, the idea is rather interesting, and many of us are just praying for a better outcome than the one Vigil got.
