Last of Us: Survival Edition, Post-Pandemic Edition revealed, priced at $80 and $160 respectively
Artbooks, comic book, statue, soundtrack, and DLC
Naughty Dog and Sony revealed today the two special editions for their upcoming PS3 exclusive The Last of Us. Keen on throwing away large sums of money on a single game? Good, because you have two versions to choose from: Survival Edition and Post-Pandemic Edition.
The cheaper option here is the Survival Edition, which throws together a SteelBook case for Last of Us, plus a full-sized artbook The Art of The Last of Us, the first issue of a spin-off comic American Dreams, and the "Sights & Sounds DLC Pack."
Now the DLC isn't exactly what you might expect, as it doesn't include any actual in-game content. Rather, the DLC features the soundtrack, a PS3 theme, and PSN Avatars.
All that will cost you $80 USD. If you don't mind paying up to $160, on the other hand, there's also a Post-Pandemic Edition available for pre-order right now. Curiously, the more expensive version doesn't actually include the artbook. Instead, you'll have everything listed above except the artbook, which is replaced by a 12" statue of Joel and Ellie. For that price, I suspect the statue will actually be of pretty high quality.
You'll also be getting a "Survival DLC Pack," for use in multiplayer:
For art fanatics (like myself), the Art of The Last of Us book will also be released separately for $40 wherever you usually expect to find artbooks; no date as mentioned. The Last of Us will be out on May 7.

I think it's safe to say that it'll just be the standard edition for me.
Might fork out the money, or get it separately later, I don't care much for comics and statues.
It's like, it's like the opposite of Wal-Mart's ridiculously easy going return policy. I hope you guys in other places on this planet have vendors with return policies that'll let you get a full refund on a game you bought 30 years ago.
And now suddenly, they haven't came back up.
This will probably just be a pass for me, I have other important things to attend to.
