Rumor: VectorCell and Paul Cuisset remaking MegaDrive classic Flashback: The Quest for Identity
This isn't grandpa's Flashback, though
One of the most popular MegaDrive games created looks like it may be getting an HD reboot, according to French gaming site Gameblog.FR. According to the site's anonymous source, Flashback: The Quest for Identity, the rotoscoped action platformer rather like a Star Wars-style Prince of Persia, is getting an HD update for modern consoles. Not only that, but it's being made by original creator Paul Cuisset and his studio VectorCell.
There's even an image of the HD update, looking like Nathan Drake meets Shadow Complex. It should be noted that article claims the game isn't simply an HD conversion of the original Flashback, but a complete remake. Consider it in the same vein as the Bionic Commando game released a few years back.
Of course, until this is officially confirmed by VectorCell or the rumored publisher Ubisoft, we're labeling this as a rumor. With the screenshot, however, I've got a feeling this is a pretty reliable rumor. Hopefully we'll hear more about this modernization of Flashback soon, because it sounds like a great game to bring to the current console generation.

edit: btw, it was really an ms-dos release, with a fantastic Amiga port. The Megadrive version came later (and wasn't as good, but it sold well..).
