As much as I love Nintendo and president Iwata streaming their Nintendo Direct videos live across the world at the same time, do they have to be at the break of dawn? I exaggerate, of course. I'm more than willing to wake up early, stay up late or not sleep at all, especially considering tomorrow's Nintendo Direct is said to include multiple new Wii U game announcements. Multiple! Tune in at 6AM PST/9AM EST yourself, if you're up.
While Nintendo of America's Twitter post for the event teased a simple "Wii U focused" Nintendo Direct, Nintendo UK's tweet was much more telling:
"Mr Iwata will reveal new games for #WiiU in a new #NintendoDirectEU at 2PM GMT on 23/01"
If you don't speak tweet, I'll translate the important part for you: new games for the Wii U, as in plural. That means multiple new Wii U game announcements tomorrow morning. Oh boy, what could they be? Ah, I guess Resident Evil Revelations was announced for Wii U this morning, but hopefully that's not the big news tomorrow.
Honestly, I don't want to wantonly speculate here, though that's not usually the case. That's because these Nintendo Directs can be all over the place. Perhaps the focus of tomorrow's event is eShop games or children's games, in which case the announcements could very likely be titles most folk around Neo could care very little about.
Nevertheless, it's tough not being excited even a little bit. What are the odds it may be a first party announcement like Mario? Ah, be still my heart! Tomorrow, 6AM PST, be there! Remember, they announced Pokemon X and Y at the last one.
