What's this I hear about book reading? Round these parts we don't take kindly to book reading. Wait, it's a book about a video game? A prequel to BioShock Infinite, you say? Well, I suppose I should have read what was going on before going on a tirade about having to read things. Gamers and readers alike will be able to purchase and download BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt for their Amazon Kindle starting February 12 for only $2.99.
Author of BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt and Irrational Games writer Joe Fielder provided some context for his upcoming prequel:
"Since we first announced BioShock Infinite, our fans have asked for more information about Columbia and the complex cast of characters that inhabit the floating city. After reading the e-book, players will have a better understanding of BioShock Infinite’s world, the struggle between its factions, and the motivations of key characters, like rebel leader Daisy Fitzroy, without spoiling the mysteries of BioShock Infinite."
Considering the book is being written with help from BioShock Infinite's creative director Ken Levine, I'm actually rather excited for Mind in Revolt. Considering the sort of marketing campaign going on for Infinite, I have an odd disassociation between the game's characters and this complex world that's been created. An introduction to said world would be the perfect appetizer before the game is released.
What a considerate thing for Irrational to do. Look out for BioShock Infinite: Mind in Revolt on February 12, downloadable via the Amazon Kindle eShop for just $2.99. BioShock Infinite itself is scheduled for release on March 26 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
