If there was one Resident Evil game in 2012 that was a resounding success, it was the 3DS' Resident Evil Revelations. The handheld game returned to the series' roots of survival horror, limited ammunition and and emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving. The rumors were true! It shouldn't be surprising to hear Capcom has announced the title will be ported to basically every platform this May, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.
Of course, the title will get a fully HD makeover and enhanced lighting and sound quality as well as tunings across the board. In addition, new content like an all new enemy, an additional difficulty levels, and plenty of content for the game's online co-op or single player Raid mode feature. And hey, Jill Valentine is the protagonist, which is a good thing, I think.
There you go. Resident Evil Revelations is being redeveloped for current gen consoles. Basically, this might be Capcom's way of saying, "Do you guys really prefer survival horror Resident Evil games? Put your money where your mouth is." Look for the game to release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC on May 21 for standard retail prices.
Here's the Japanese trailer for the Biohazard version of Revelations, which gives you a good look at what the title looks in HD.
