Among us nerds the name Fire Emblem has some meaning, but in the grand world of handheld gaming most North American customers could care less about it. It might come as a surprise then to see that Nintendo is putting some advertising behind the upcoming Fire Emblem: Awakening release. First we get the great looking blue 3DS bundle and now there's this commercial for the title.
While disappointing that the commercial doesn't actually feature any gameplay, it's worth recognizing that on television you've got to put your best food forward. No argument here that Fire Emblem: Awakening's cinematics look astounding. Still, maybe just a bit of the tactical action would have been fitting, just so folk new to the franchise might know what they're getting into. Who am I kidding? I want to see more gameplay myself. At least it's longer than 10 seconds.
Fire Emblem: Awakening is releasing for the 3DS on February 4, about 10 months after its initial release in Japan. Hopefully it sells well so we can make an argument for the inevitable sequel to get a global release. It's going to be so good. Oh, and if you missed it, the demo went live last Thursday.
