If there's an award for the biggest tease of the new year, many people are going to nominate CD Projekt RED. The recent Cyberpunk 2077 teaser trailer carried a hidden message potentially referring to The Witcher 3, and now a blog post by the studio provides another tantalizing morsel. CD Projekt's blog post discusses the progress of the REDkit beta, but it is the image at the top that steals the show.
The REDkit is CD Projekt's mod tools for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and has been in beta for some time. Those lucky enough to be in the beta have been creating all sorts of wonders if the studio's remarks are any indication, but everyone not so fortunate has to wait a little more.
It's been a while since you’ve heard about the REDkit beta. Well, the beta program is still in full effect with participants sending us loads of awesome content every day. We would like to share it with you on the go, but you’re going to have to wait a little longer to see the outcomes of their work. It shouldn’t be too long however, so stay tuned for more info.
So we still have some time before seeing the fruits of the beta testers labors, but the real treat is the image provided with the blog post. It's pretty hard to deny what it is, even if CD Projekt is remaining beyond coy. The sword clearly belongs to Geralt of Rivia and seems to solidify The Witcher 3 as the big announcement on February 5.
There are some other possibilites, of course, like a spin-off or expansion, but a safe bet would be The Witcher 3. Everyone wants it, so please CD Projekt, just deliver the goods!
