Among the Sleep's first trailer is one of the most terrifying things I've seen in recent memory. That's not because of the setting, per se, after all it's basically just a haunted house, but it's the fact that the protagonist is a two-year old child. These newest screenshots and pieces of concept art from developer Krillbite Studio go a step further down the rabbit hole.
The question now appears to be at which point our young hero travels from his once quiet home through the looking glass. Transitioning between his now dark home into a woodland terrain, then into what appears to be a swamp. In other words, things get real weird, real quick. Considering Among the Sleep's trailer made me terrified traveling between three rooms, I shiver at the thought of a larger open world.
With a tentative release planned in 2013, Among the Sleep will be coming to both Windows and Mac platforms. This is one indie horror game to watch out for, or perhaps close your eyes and pull the bed sheets over your head... for.
