Monster Hunter isn't exactly all too popular
Monster Hunter is actually by far Capcoms biggest and best selling franchise and to a lot of people, much more highly regarded than something like resident evil

In Japan maybe but as far as I know its not very popular elsewhere. Maybe things have changed after MH3 but I'm not sure if it should be considered a system seller just yet. MH3 had a large player base but the Wii was hitting its prime and theres no telling how many people will actually be interested in MH3U without pre-order numbers.

I would, not as much as some other franchises but i think it will boost the sales of the Wii U a bit.

Do you mean in general or are you talking about existing fans? A lot of MH fans will buy a new console just for it (or even import) band I'm sure there are people that were new to MH that liked MH3 enough to get the next game, but that doesn't mean they liked it enough to buy a Wii U just for one game. The 3DS version on the other hand should do well although lack of online play could be a turn off for some.

I mean people that have only played MH3 (like myself).

Because there is already a couple of Nintendo franchised games people who played MH3 and were going to wait to get the Wii U might just have enough incentive now

I know a lot of veteran MH fans will fork out for a Wii U just for mh and nothing else, but they are die hard fans. (but that is not what i was talking about)

i think our opinions just vary on this, but i think it will boost the sales of the Wii U a bit.

MH3 had a large player base but the Wii was hitting its prime and theres no stelling how many people will actually be interested in MH3U without pre-order numbers.

No, I think we're pretty much on the same page here. I'm sure a lot of people who started with MH3 will get MH3U because they liked the first one, some of them might change their mind and get a Wii U sooner rather than later but others need more than I game to convince them.

Monster Hunter never really had system selling power like in Japan, not like Mario or Halo except for die hard fans. MH3 might have helped the series's popularity outside of Japan but we won't find out until we see pre-order numbers and player numbers to compare to that of the previous game.
