Only a few things in life are certain, one of which is that The Sims will always have more expansions and content packs than we can count. The Sims 3 has been out since 2009, but it's still going strong, and 2013 is going to see a bunch more updates for the title, on top of what its already got. Actually, if you've followed the Sims games at all over the years, most of these shouldn't come as a surprise.
The first 2013 expansion will be coming in March, with The Sims 3: University Life. The name pretty much says it all, letting players create and play as college students, which should work for any Sim between that "young adult" and "elder" stage. The expansion will include six majors, and a number of activities we expect from a stereotypical college experience. There is a special limited edition to go with, if you care to pre-order, which throws in a Party Pack with some fraternity props and attire.
Come June, EA will be releasing The Sims 3: Island Paradise, a tropical themed expansion that adds customizable houseboats, resort management (presumably as an occupation), and some vacation-y activities.
Come fall, a new "stuff pack" will also be out. For those unaware, these are just bundles of vanity items and props, and don't actually add any new gameplay content. Then again, you might argue that in Sims, everything adds gameplay value.
