LEGO Marvel Super Heroes announced, includes over 100 character from The Avengers, X-Men and more
It's the Avengers, but with Spider-Man, Deadpool and the X-Men
It must be quite extraordinary to be a team member working with LEGO on basically every exciting nerd franchise they can get their hands on. Batman, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, it's all quite impressive. What' next? Well, beyond the grand Legend of Chima scheme, it appears the next big game from TT Games will be LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. Yup, there's now going to be LEGO Avengers, Spider-Man and X-Men all packed into one. How do they get such amazing toys!?
TQ Jefferson, vice president of games production at Marvel Entertainment, contributed this bit of hype:
"Fans of both LEGO and Marvel have wanted this game for years, and we’re addressing that demand with more Marvel Universe characters than ever in a console game. If you’re a fan of Spider-Man, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy or scores of other Marvel characters, this is the game for you."
Originally revealed on the cover of an upcoming Game Informer magazine, only a subset of actual superheroes has been confirmed as of yet. The Avengers from last summer's movie (Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow), Spider-Man, Deadpool, and Wolverine as well as bad-guy Loki are the only characters actually shown. Nick Fury and Galactus are also mentioned by name. However, the press release states over 100 character will be unlockable in total.
In other words, they've got a lot of potential for a really epic storyline here. How many mediums get the opportunity to play with all those characters at once? We're talking hundreds of available super heroes and villains in their own LEGO universe, unconstrained by the stark limitations of canon. Of course, there are different limitations they have, which are hyping and advertising other upcoming Marvel products.
Expect LEGO Marvel Super Heroes in fall of 2013 across, well, basically every platform. We're talking Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii U, Nintendo DS and 3DS, PlayStation Vita and if that next-gen will ever come out that too. Can't wait to see what TT Games has in mind for the game's direction.

A lot of the Lego games seem fun though, I want the DC superhero one or whatever and the Harry Potter one seems cool.
But I love Marvel and over 100 characters? EVEN DEADPOOL TOO? OH GOD YES. I'm definitely going to be getting this.
