Anyone else feel from Gen 5 onwards the new pokemon haven't really looked like.... well pokemon.
Please, give me the definition of what you consider a Pokemon.
It just seems that gens 1-4 had simple designs. Now it just looks they're starting to just pull the designs out of their arse.

and it was less than 24 hours before people started bitching about designs. Oh how predictable this community has become.

Also, to those that are saying that it's based in France / Paris because the Eiffel Tower-like building seen in the trailer, it's not. The game in it's entirety is based on "various parts of Europe".

Looks entertaining, even for a person who lost interest in the pokemon for the last 4/5 years... (me). Might play this just to relive old times sakes...

No doubt the 'sequel' will be called, 'Pokemon Z' (as in the Z axis in a 3D graph)...

Alright then, let's break this puppy down.

:04 - Pikachu introduction in front of a cityscape. New game has large city areas like in Unova?

:13 - Pikachu's electricity is shown from on top of a large tower, people are speculating the Eiffel Tower, so perhaps this is pokemon's version of Europe?

:15 - Zooms out to a globe that looks identical to our earth, electricity is definitely from mainland Europe, Paris. Sweet.

:21 - New male trainer revealed, looking in a mirror. Wonder if customization rumors will come true, certainly no indication either way in this trailer. I kinda doubt it personally. I like the new trainer design, clean and to the point. Also a sucker for characters with glasses.

:23 - Field footage, camera is far lower. The rolling world reminds me of Animal Crossing, which is a good thing. Should look great in 3D mode. It also looks like the routes are stating at one again.

:25 - Swinging across a gap on a vine. I wonder if this is part of an environmental puzzle area or an early gym? Camera zooms are very similar to the perspective changes in B/W.

:26 - Glimpse of the female trainer, I believe. Like her hair. I also wonder if those flowers act as grass with wild pokemon, and if they differentiate between that and regular grass, kinda like the darker grass in B/W.

:27 - Another look at a tower in a city, plus ROLLER SKATES! Wonder if these replace the bike, or maybe the running shoes if we have analog movement.

:28 - Female trainer leaving a castle/mansion over a bridge. The statue in the background seems to be a pokemon trainer with a Golurk, Palpitoad, and maybe a third pokemon holding its arms up.

:30 - A canyon area with several futuristic domes, maybe this is some kind of Battle Frontier?

:35 - Chespin, new grass starter. Its shown using some sort of light attack, maybe Solarbeam, on a Magikarp. New battle arenas and animations look great.

:41 Golurk getting attacked by Chespin with what looks like a dark type slashing move. Dark/Grass would make a pretty cool starter.

:44 - Fennekin - new fire starter, looks very fox-like. Uses a flamethrower attack on a munchlax.

:48 - Krillia fighting Fennekin. Uses some sort of purple wave attack, maybe a new look for confuse ray or perhaps some other psychic attack. A fire psychic would be cool as well.

:50 - Froakie new water starter, just what we needed, another frog. Uses a water gun-like attack on a pansear. Just what we needed, the monkeys back.

:56 - Froakie and a Patrat fighting it out. Nice to see physical moves actually used by the pokemon up close and personal.

:58 - Male trainer running through a forest area, followed by a female character. Wonder if this is an NPC, or if Nintendo will include some version of multiplayer in the game, akin to the party system in Dragon Quest 9.

1:00 - Pikachu found in the grass, that hasn't been around in a while! Looks like random encounters return, which I actually like.

1:01 - Announcer saying "The more you battle together, the stronger you become." I wonder if this is just a line to say in the trailer, or if its alluding to the mechanics of the game. Maybe friendship with your pokemon will play a much bigger role this time around than for a few useless moves and the occasional evolution?

1:02 - Female trainer, another look. Really like this design. She appears to be in a gym that's transforming around her, perhaps psychic?

1:03 - Psyduck fighting a litwick! Yes, litwick is one of my favorite new lines!

1:04 - Audino fighting Weavile

1:06 - Male trainer bouncing on some sort of web, looks like another gym.

1:07 - mienfoo fighting dratini

1:10 - Male trainer approaching the gates of Hell, or maybe another gym.

1:12 - Y legendary looks freaking epic. Fire/Flying or Fire/Dark perhaps?

1:22 - X legendary looks not so much. I think I know which version will sell better, so I must get the opposite! X it is, then. Looks like a lot of precious stones, so maybe a rock type with something like Psychic, or maybe steel?

So, Pokemon confirmed so far:

Gen 6.:
Chespin
Fennekin
Froakie
X
Y

Gen 1:
Magikarp
Pikachu
Psyduck
Dratini

Gen 2:
None, though Sneasle should be around with Weavile

Gen 3:
Krillia

Gen 4:
Weavile

Gen 5:
Golurk
Pansear
Patrat
Litwick
Audino
Mienfoo

So, 39 with evolutions in place confirmed, not bad for a minute of footage.

Have to agree with that. I think the designs of the pokemons in the first 3-4 generations were unique. But after generation 4, it just went down hill. Lacked originality and imagination. I guess old school pokemon players would know what I mean...

No, I don't remember that trailer, link please?

The game is still in development so anything shown now could change, but I think it is far more likely than not that all of those pokemon will appear in the main campaign of these games.

I cannot find the actual trailer, but I made a thread about it way back when. Here:
http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/56685/t1734488-ho-oh-screenshot/
In the trailer, Keldeo fought the players Ho-oh and was completely pwned. Ho-oh is NOT catchable in Black 2 or White 2.
Therefore, you can't really confirm that whatever appears in the trailers will appear in the games guaranteed. Just that the trailer shows those particular pokemon battling.

That's also a legendary we are talking about, advertising for an event pokemon. A slightly different case than a magikarp.

Stoked. Gives me motivation to completely finish up Black 2. Hopefully they'll retain the Poke Transfer feature.
