Can't kinect be hacked to do crazy things? I wonder if it's possible to manipulate the guide without it ever appearing. Would be sooooo useful, especially ever since they got rid of the old blades the guide has been slow as *bleep*. Made even more so in the days of smartphones where your used to apps working instantly.

Having kinect do guide commands is the best idea ever. Just imagine saying "guide, play *artist* shuffle playlist" during gameplay. THIS makes Kinect useful.
to be honest i'm surprised no one looked into it yet. so far the whole voice recognition thing hasn't payed off much for the gamers. usually it's things that adds a twist to gaming but serves rarely an advantage that makes it worth buying for a single product :/

i can see this happening now.

another trendy feature..

to be honest i'd rather see this thing being put to use in an even more practical way if it's online.
why not use the voice to mute and report noisy pricks during online play instead of interrupting the "online experience" just for some douchy little brat that will probably be replaced by another Timmy fifteen minutes later?

simply hit the team speak button on the controller for a sec and say: "system, mute and report player 10"
i'm not gonna lie. i hate interrupting my game for these reasons. makes it more inviting to respond on the hate as well.

Kinect seems like a nifty idea and all but the way it's being used is so....well boring. Honestly how convenient is saying "quick heal" when the tap of an LB will do the same plus with co-op you'd expect to have some level of vocal communication with your partner which may interfere with kinect.

"So like the other day this stupid woman at the reception desk is all like "sir I'm sorry QUICK HEAL! QUICK HEAL DAMMIT! QUICK HEAL GODDA-- oh ok....where was I?"

If anything having Kinect allowing us to use vocal commands to make seemingly tedious, long or complex tasks much faster and easier would be better than making already efficient and fast actions much slower (reload weapon? Seriously?) Or at least make some of the vocal commands embarrasing to say out loud that way drunken frat parties are 10x more fun.

How hilarious would it be if the Kinect didn't recognize cursing? "*bleep*ING HEAL ME!!" Doesn't recognize it. Everyone dies.
