With Trevor holding up the trunk and a can of beer instead of a pistol unlike the other 2, I'm guessing he'll be V's lil' jacob. I just hope V's got a lot more guns in its library than what IV had. And hopefully no more episodes, unless it's episodes that takes place in the other 2 cities of S.A., they can make it as expansion packs, kinda like what mmo's do like WoW,

As great as that would be I can't really see the other two cities been added. By the sounds of it this map is going to be huge so I can't another city being added. And if they were I doubt they'd be on the same map like in San Andreas. It would be more likely you'd have to fast travel between them or something.

I'm not really excited about the cover art. I mean, they all look pretty similar. Still, I guess it would be nice to see it in the next few weeks

I'll bet thats from an in-game mission. Perhaps one where you have to kidnap somebody and execute them out in the backwoods.

I would love to see the other two cities added later on as DLC. Criterion added Big Surf Island to Burnout Paradise and it added an unbelievable (and almost outrageous) replayability to the game. As for the sheer size of maps like San Andreas, and apparently the Los Santos of GTA V, I would say that Avalanche, wihth Just Cause 2, pretty well proved that a sandbox game could have a huge map and still be incredibly playable. That game is amazing and is MANY TIMES the size of San Andreas. Here, check this out:

I very rarely get over excited about cover art. To me, and maybe I am wrong, this is just over-hyped fluff doled out in lieu of serious propaganda, like more trailers, detailed gameplay and physics information, and preview videos. I am getting more excited about GTA V the more I see, but honestly, after GTA IV, I am very skeptical about all future GTA titles, V included.

I could totally see them doing full blown city DLCs to expand the base game. I think it's the next logical step for them to accomplish.

i just thought of an idea
if las venturas was made a dlc, it would be epic if gambling was made an online multi player mode
and it wouldnt just be a 'side game' but you get to keep your winnings in single player. ofcourse there can be bingo for the ladies

San Andreas has many times the detail Games like Just Cause, Fuel and Daggerfall have proved that it's not hard to up the size (event in the mid-90s!), but you just can't scale the detail up with it.
I don't think they'll add either of the other cities. They'd have to be as big or bigger than how the game is already shaping up to be, and it's already set to be the biggest GTA ever made...isn't it? I think they'll go the IV route of using the assets they've already made to create some interesting new gameplay. It seems like R* would rather make one ridiculously large and detailed city to play around in, than release one that's underdone with the promise of another one later on.

Ville_Valo, I understand your point with Fuel, to an extent, but that is understandable, because while technically a sandbox game, like Paradise, you spend all your time in your vehicles. However, the detail in Just Cause 2 is stunning and the graphics gorgeous, far more so, even than GTA IV, which was reputed and celebrated for its graphics.

Just Cause 2 certainly is more colorful than GTAIV. That adds a lot to the graphics.

It'll fun to explore Los Santos and it's surroundings, for sure, and by the sound of it, there'll be a lot to explore.

Seeing the cover art will be cool, but it's not exactly the most exciting news. Still, gotta take what you can get at this stage!

For me Just Cause 2 just proved that bigger isn't better. There was very little to do and you could go for miles with nothing to do other than pick up collectables. The game did look fantastic, sometimes I'd just listen to music and drive, sail or fly around for a while. The actual map could have been a lot better if it had a few decent sized cities and more interaction with NPC's though.

Okay JC2 has great graphics, but a game can't be judged on its looks. Going by the scale map you posted it's around 30 times the size of San Andreas. Fact is that there is still more to do in San Andreas.

The thing which made the San Andreas map a masterpiece which to the day still hasn't been improved on (as far as I'm aware) is that it finds the perfect balanced between city and country. And I'm pretty excited about GTA V because it just might hit that balance again. If Los Santos is the size of Liberty City in GTA IV then the mountains, country and desert are double the size of San Andreas we could be on for one hell of a good map.
