Japanese Pokemon Black & White 2 commercial teases big Pokemon news for next Tuesday
Update It could really, really be anything
A commercial making the rounds in Japan for Pokemon Black & White Version 2 ends with special note to fans. The note mentions that big news is planned for announcement on January 8 -- next Tuesday. Since the trailer started making its rounds, the Japanese Pokemon website has also been updated to reference the news. Labeled as "Important Announce" the news really could be anything. Anything!
Naturally, that means we have to speculate a bit. Pokemon Black & White Version 2 were both announced during the month of February, not January. Add in the fact that new Pokemon games are typically announced in conjunction between Japan and North America, but North America isn't teasing any announcements as of yet, and it might be best to assume this isn't a game announcement.
What else could it be? Perhaps a WiFi event? Perhaps the announcement of a title not in the main franchise, thus not requiring a simultaneous global release? With the next Pokemon Mystery Dungeon game scheduled for March, another title announcement seems unlikely. Best not to get our hopes down, though! You never know what Game Freak and Nintendo might have in store.
We'll be up Monday night to make sure we get the latest Pokemon news up as soon we can. Look forward to it!
Update: Check what I said earlier, it looks like Nintendo of America is involved in the tease now as well. Basically, all bets are off at this point. We could be seeing the announcement of the next game in the main series.
Thanks for the tip, bbb7002004, Dragoon.

Aside from Mystery Dungeon and Ranger.
Would like to be optimistic and hope for R/S/E remakes confirmed, Snap sequel, or something like that. But I can't stop thinking that it's gonna be a troll or something. :\
Not very likely though since GameFreak have said they prefer the 2d sprites and will stick to the as long as they can.
Would love an announcement on a new Pokemon Snap or even Pokemon Stadium!
