Huge slate of new Metro: Last Light screenshots arrive
Nice bit of color in the post-apocalyptic future
Metro: Last Light is quickly approaching its March 2013 release date, and to help with the wait is a rather large batch of new screenshots. It wasn't all that long ago when the last batch arrived, so it's nice to see 4A Games give fans a glimpse of the sequel to Metro 2033. These new shots feature a mix of below and above ground, like the older ones, but the below ground shots showcase some rather vibrant colors.
Most post-apocalyptic games have a rather dreary color slate, but Metro: Last Light looks to buck that trend. The Russian Metro tunnels actually look like people have been living in them, with bars, vendors, and families all sharing the confined space. Lanterns cast light in the darkness for a grandfather to make shadow puppets for children or show the pathway to the next part of the tunnel.
Above ground things are a little different. Grey clouds cover the skies, but the sun does peak its way through to illuminate the destroyed buildings, vehicles, planes, and signs. It should be just as scary a place as venturing above ground in Metro 2033, but at least it'll look quite pretty.
Be sure to browse through all the screenshots to soak in as much of the atmosphere as possible, because when Metro: Last Light arrives you'll be fighting for your survival.
